Standtall Beagles is an AKC Beagle kennel handling 13 and 15 inch beagles and breeding for Field ability and conformation. Standtall Beagles is located in Connely Springs, NC just west of Hickory and just east of Morganton. Charles Berry, the owner and operator, has been involved with the sport of Beagling for over 45 years and still has a passion for the beagle. While a lot of folks follow along the lines of, "It don't matter what a dog looks like as long as it will run a rabbit" Charles says..."I want both, a good looking dog that will run the hair off a rabbit"

Show Dogs

I am a breeder of show dogs which results in having good looking dogs in my kennel. I do not participate in the show ring because of my physical limitations but that doesn't keep me from breeding and raising show quality dogs. if you are looking for a companion to become part of the family, these show dogs are excellent pets.

field Dogs

Standtall Beagles started out in 1962 primarily as a means of chasing and hunting rabbits. as years went by, I developed an interest in SPO trials and got involved in field trialing. in 1996 I saw that the beagle clubs were promoting looks and conformation in the beagle as well as field running abilities and I decided I wanted both. at this time Ii incorporated into my breeding program conformation as well as field running ability. By crossing up some of the best looking dogs with the best field dogs I have produced true rabbit dogs that not only run well but also look great.

Stud Dogs

Standtall Beagles also offers stud services. When breeding to a well bred and proven sire, the outcome of your litter can be even more decisive. Whether your wanting to breed in conformation or field ability Standtall Beagles has the dog you can be confident in. You may have an interest in showing beagles, Standtall Beagles should be a definite standout among your list of breeders. Currently at stud at Standtall Beagles are Berry's Standtall Showboat (show dog) and Berry's Standtall Max (good looking field dog with excellent conformation.)
